Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Busy But Built ("we," "us") is an online and in-person fitness coaching business operated by Ethan Gough in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our coaching services, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Information we collect
When you fill out our questionnaire or book a call, you give us:
- Your name, mobile number and email address
- Your answers about your goals, schedule, training experience and what gets in the way
- The date and time you choose for your call
If you become a client, we may also collect information you choose to share for your coaching, such as body weight, progress photos, measurements, meal photos and training logs.
We also collect basic technical information automatically, such as your device type, browser and pages visited, to keep the site working and understand how it's used.
3. How we use it
- To contact you about the call you booked: confirmations, reminders and rescheduling
- To prepare for your call and see whether coaching is a good fit
- To deliver coaching if you become a client: your program, nutrition targets, check-ins and support
- To answer your questions and keep records required by law
We will never sell or rent your personal information.
4. Text messages and email
When you book a call, you agree to receive text messages from Busy But Built by checking the SMS consent box on our booking form. The box is unchecked by default and separate from agreeing to these policies, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Texts include:
- About your call: booking confirmations, appointment reminders and follow-ups.
- Tips and offers: occasional fitness tips, offers and program updates.
- Frequency: varies with your booking, typically up to 10 messages a month.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any text at any time. Reply HELP for help.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver the messages.
5. Health and fitness information
Information such as your weight, photos and health details is sensitive. We use it only to coach you, keep it private, and never post your photos or results publicly without your written permission.
6. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run the business, and only so they can provide that service: our booking and messaging platform (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector), our text-message carrier partners, our coaching app, email providers and our website host. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
8. Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
9. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent. Contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
